Your journey starts in Maun, where you will be collected by a charter aircraft, fly across the Kalahari fringe, landing at Nxai Pan.  A part of the Makgadikgadi Pans system is the remarkable Nxai Pan National Park, covering 2,578 square kilometre, where a number of springbok, together with a good population of jackal, bat-eared fox and numerous smaller creatures, are permanent residents.


Spend two days at Kwara Camp, located in the Okavango Delta. The attraction of Kwara is its wide range of activities in an area of intricate channels, rivers, lagoons, dramatic palm-fringed islands, reed beds, floating grasses and papyrus that form a natural wilderness like no other.


Today you will fly to Lagoon Camp, famous for the best venue in Africa for wild dog viewing as the dogs have denned near the camp every year of the camps existence.  These animals are generally very relaxed in the presence of vehicles, meaning the sightings are usually at close range and many guests have seen amazing action.  Birding along the river is excellent, and fishing for Tiger Fish & Bream is a relaxing way to spend an afternoon.

Full Day by Day Itinerary


Day 1-2

Nxai Pan National Park

Nxai Pan Camp was opened in February 2009 and is still the only permanent camp within the National Park. It faces east over the open plains of Nxai Pan, a grass-covered fossil lake-bed that was once part of the great lake that covered central Botswana.


The 9 purpose built desert rooms are situated in the tree line, all being linked by raised decks. The rooms are constructed with thatched roofs, insulation so it is cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. The main area consists of a dining room, lounge area and a viewing deck. There is also a swimming pool, library and curio shop. As part of the main complex.  The power is entirely run by solar sources, but the rooms do have fans and charging points.

Day 3-4:

Okavango Delta

The Kwara area is home to a variety of wildlife species including, lechwe, sitatunga, reedbuck, bushbuck, hippo, crocodile, elephant, buffalo, sable, roan, zebra, giraffe, wildebeest, impala and tsessebe.  Lion, hyaena, wild dog, leopard and cheetah are also abundant in this part of the Delta and are regularly seen.


The birds of the Delta are both colourful and melodious and the guides will reveal them to you from close range.  Gadikwe Lagoon is one of the largest bird breeding colonies in Botswana.  From September to December thousands of birds and their young may be viewed in their nesting grounds from Kwara’s double decker pontoon boat.  Fishing for bream, catfish and pike is also an excellent activity that can be undertaken

Day 5-6

Kwando River

Lagoon Camp lies on the shady banks of the Kwando River among the shade of mature Marula trees.  Accommodation is provided in six luxury safari-style permanent tents overlooking the river and with en-suite facilities.  Activities are based around morning and night game drives in open vehicles, double deck boat cruises and guided walks.  Fishing is also available.  This lush area is home to large herds of elephant and buffalo, pods of hippo wallow contentedly in the Kwando, and spotted necked otter may also be seen from time to time.

Day 7-8


Each of the 7 luxury cottages is individually designed and decorated with local materials.
Accommodation ranges from double suites, to the honeymoon cottage – with both its own fireplace and plunge pool. All the cottages have their own private garden and dining area.

The open-sided design affords a unique view across the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park to the mighty Zambezi River and the Victoria Falls – one of the Seven Natural Wonders Of The World.

The main house provides the setting for our French style cuisine; alternatively dine under the stars on the lawn or in the privacy of your own cottage, whilst enjoying the personal service of our Zambian staff, all with an in-depth knowledge of Livingstone and its environs. Spend your days enjoying the Victoria Falls area, or by the pool, spotting elephants at the nearby watering hole. Evenings can be spent sampling wine from our cellars or unwinding by the hearth, with the matchless African skies providing an unforgettable backdrop.

Day 9 – Fly out of Livingstone

Today you will be road transferred to Livingstone airport today in time to connect with your onward flight.
