Day 1-3: Sunset over the city

Land at Cape Town International airport and pick up your hire car to drive to your guest house in Sea Point. Black Heath Lodge is conveniently located in Sea Point on Cape Town’s Atlantic Seaboard, right under Signal Hill close to the happening city centre of Cape Town, as well as the V&A Waterfront.

A host of world-class restaurants are within easy reach of the lodge, and the famous beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay are just around the corner.
This re-vamped Victorian House appeals to travellers who are looking for a stylish, city centre retreat that offers great service, in beautiful surroundings.

You have a short drive today through picturesque scenery to the town of Stellenbosch, South Africa’s premier wine producing region.

This quiet guest house is located in the centre of the beautiful university town of Stellenbosch, the heart of the wine region and an area which offers an abundance of birdlife, historic farmhouse, vineyards and mountain views.

All of the five guest rooms are spacious and equipped with remote control TV, phone, mini-bar, coffee & tea making facilities, hairdryer and safe.

Day 6-7: Spectacular coastlines

Hermanus

Today you have a scenic drive along the coast to Hermanus, the whale watching capital of South Africa.

The best time for seeing the many whales which come to calve in these waters is from mid June to November. During this time, the whales often come within metres of the shore and sightings are spectacular.

The Auberge Burgundy is a lovely guest house overlooking the ocean with a swimming pool, quiet rooms and a restaurant next door offering superb seafood and a relaxing ambience.

Walks along the coastal pathways are lovely, and there are many clean and peaceful beaches nearby.

Day 8: Ancient caves

Oudtshoorn

You will drive further up the beautiful Garden Route today, and inland a short distance to Outdshoorn. This area is well known for ostrich farming and is also close by to the Cango Caves.

Located 13km out of the town of Oudtshoorn, this lodge operates as a working ostrich farm and is situated en route to the renowned Cango Caves.

This cosy, country style retreat is a haven of peace and tranquillity, set in the captivating surroundings of Schoemansport, at the foothills of the majestic Swartberg mountain range.

Day 9-10: History and culture

Knysna

A short drive will bring you back to the coast and to the historic town of Knysna with remnants of ancient forest and a peaceful lagoon. You will stay at the Graywood Hotel, a beautiful hotel made of timber and with a swimming pool.

The Graywood, a sister hotel to the Log-Inn, Knysna, offers affordable & comfortable rooms in the heart of this beautiful and historic town.

Tsitsikamma

A little further from Knysna is Tsitsikamma, a tranquil area of forest, ocean front and sparkling mountain streams. You will stay at the Tsitsikamma Lodge, situated at the foot of the mountains and surrounded by lush gardens.

The cabins are built from solid wood built within stands of huge shady trees. Spectacular mountain views and a luxurious open-plan interior with spa-bath create a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere.

Each cabin also has its own TV, phone, tea & coffee facilities, BBQ and private deck. In addition, the luxury cabins feature a lounge with fireplace, mini-hi-fi and bar fridge allowing guests to truly unwind in this beautiful wilderness.
