Assistant to the Managing Director

Nicole rejoined ATI’s team as Assistant to the Managing Director in early 2023 after taking two years out to study in Cape Town. During her time as David’s PA for just over two years before embarking on her degree, she was never afraid to pitch in and help, whether that was taking reluctant dogs to the vet for their vaccinations, organizing Easter Egg hunts, or unblocking a leaking kitchen drain. She probably has the most varied job of us all, involving everything from marketing, graphic design, tech support, and consulting, to generally supporting David to make it through the working day! And she’s still busy completing her degree in her ‘spare time’…

Nicole was instrumental in assisting David to co-ordinate the British repatriation flight in March 2020 for which he was honoured with a BEM in the Queen’s 2021 New Years Honours list.

Nicole says:

How did you get into tourism? By accident – but I truly enjoy travelling and sharing that enthusiasm with others so tourism seems like the right place to be.

What is your favorite holiday destination? Anywhere quiet, a little forgotten and just waiting to be discovered (my inner introvert is showing).

If you got stuck in a lift and were forced to listen to only one song, what would it be? Laura Marling, Alas I Cannot Swim.

Would you rather take a trip to outer space or bottom of the ocean? The bottom of the ocean, Ariel made it clear what I was missing out on.

What are your ‘must have’ travel items? A sundress, a swimsuit, and my trusty backpack.

What is your favourite Namibian destination and why? I’m partial to the Zambezi region, it’s green & there’s water – what more could a Namibian want? Also, there are rivers & new biomes just begging to be explored.

A quote to live by? Chase whatever makes you feel the sunshine from the inside out.
