Indian Ocean Islands

The biggest attraction of these Indian Ocean island holiday locations is that they have so much more to offer than their coastline. The fascinating history and the many cultural, linguistic and culinary influences over the years have resulted in amazingly varied towns and villages which are ideal to explore. The isolated nature of island evolution means that there is a wide variety of endemic flora & fauna to learn about during your time in these areas, with conservation being a top priority for these nations, most especially in the Seychelles.

And then of course, there are the beaches! Soft, white sands and clear blue oceans teaming with colourful fish and corals. The Indian Ocean is the perfect location to dive and snorkel, either for complete beginners or more experienced water-babies. Most resorts also offer at least some of the standard motorised and non-motorised water sports – kayaking, pedlos, sailing, catamaran or motor boat cruises, water-skiing, snorkelling, glass-bottom boat excursions, and windsurfing. And for those who simply wish to relax, unwind and enjoy some mindful peace and quiet, these are the perfect surroundings. Many resorts and hotels also offer tailor made wedding and/or Honeymoon packages with discounts for the bride and beautiful beach ceremonies. We can’t think of many places more romantic!

Mozambique offers a variety of accommodation and resorts, and as such we can always find something to suit individual tastes and interests. Mauritius tends to be more child friendly than the Seychelles, especially for families with younger members. There are often inclusive kid’s clubs offering a multitude of activities and games, as well as baby-sitting and kids dining times. However, the island is also perfect for Honeymooners and adults of all ages travelling without children. We would recommend the Seychelles for couples or families with older children, who would enjoy learning more about the environment and perhaps hiking into the interior of the islands in addition to relaxing on the beaches. Enjoy browsing through our recommended itineraries and dreaming about your island paradise!
