Kwando Kwara Camp

Kwara is located in the remote northern part of the stunning Okavango Delta within the private Kwara concession. The camp fronts onto a permanent lagoon and a huge floodplain, and is backed by extensive bush. It is a magnificent wilderness area in excess of 1,700 square kilometres, bordering the Moremi Reserve. No trip to Botswana is complete without a visit to the Delta, the shimmering and unique watery jewel in the middle of the Kalahari desert. Kwara encompasses a wide diversity of habitats, ranging from the clear Delta waters with reed-lined lagoons and channels, to open grasslands, mopane woodlands and palm-fringed islands.Kwara Camp is situated in the heart of the Okavango Delta, within the private Kwara concession. This beautiful camp offers a very relaxed, friendly and authentic atmosphere and many guests don’t want to leave. It is a more rustic style camps so it is important our guests are aware of this. The main area has a plunge pool, bar, lounge and also a hide. Just in front, towards the lagoon is the fire pit where a light breakfast is served each day before heading off on activities and stories are told after supper in the evenings.Each of the 8 tents is situated on a deck, (some are raised), overlooking the seasonal floodplain or the lagoon. All are en-suite with a flush toilet, double sinks and an outdoor shower. In addition each tent has a private veranda with deckchairs, the perfect place to relax and take in the magnificent views and soak up the atmosphere. There is also a honeymoon tent which boasts a free standing claw-footbath.Activities offered here are game drives, night drives, mokoro and motor boat excursions, nature walks and fishing.

The Camp has a total of eight rooms and they are more rustic than the other properties but have the feeling of a true Africa of old safari meru styled tents all on raised platforms with inside/outside showers and double basins. More than adequate and in the most beautiful part of the Okavango Delta – a must see for any wildlife enthusiast.
