The Hainaveld area, situated on the Northern border of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve was once reserved for cattle farming under the Tribal Grazing Land Policy. Itis now however quickly expanding to a prime game farming area. The only problem isthe ranches were cut into approximately 6,000 ha blocks which are simply too small toaccommodate game farming.

Game farms are being sold in the Hainaveld area to those who can afford it and wish to experience the Kalahari in a private way. The area is also the location of some of thebest lodges accommodating visitors to the Central Kalahari Game Reserve. Aside fromthat, the area is also a favourite camping area for visitors on a leopard safari.
